CAPTAIN JAMES COOK, memorial medal (1784) in silver (43mm) by L. Pingo for the royal Society (M.H. 374; BHM. 258). Minute obverse rim nick at 5.30 o'clock and minor contact mark in right field of obverse otherwise nearly uncirculated with only traces of die rust, rare, only 322 struck.
