CAPTAIN JAMES COOK, memorial medal (1784) in silver (43mm) by L.Pingo for the Royal Society (M.H.374; BHM 258). Attractively toned, the obverse with considerable grey, uncirculated and rare, especially in this condition, with considerable die rust evident on the reverse, 322 struck.

Ex Spink Australia Sale 5 (lot 129) and L.R. Smith Collection. Originally sold in it's original case of issue which is now missing.
