SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus III, (219-217 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.93 grams), Series III, Antioch on Orontes mint, issued 208-200 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochus III to right in high relief, one diadem end rising, rev. Apollo seated left on omphalos, holding arrow and bow, on right, **BASILEWS and to left **ANTIOXOU, **DII monogram to left, (cf.S.6935, Newell 22, Newell WSM 1091b, Hunter 15 [p.32]). Attractive dark tone, large broad flan, good very fine/very fine, rare.
