SICILY, Segesta, (461-415 B.C.), silver didrachm, (8.4 grans), obv. hound to right, three stalks of barley behind, traces of **SEGESTAIIB retrograde below on ground line, obv. head of nymph Segesta to right, (cf.S.900, SNG ANS 645 [ same dies]). Obverse double struck, otherwise very fine and rare.

The legend on the obverse has for this die not previously been noted as being retrograde. This obvese die is double struck and all strikes exhibit this fault.
