THEODOSIUS I, (A.D. 379-395), AE 2, issued 383-388, Nicomedia mint, obv. pearl-diademed bust to right of Theodosius around DN THEODO SIVS PF AVG, rev. Emperor standing right with standard and globe, left foot om captive, around VIRTVS E XERCITI, dot in left field, SMNA in exergue, (RIC 44b.2 Officina uncertain in RIC, cf.S.4184). Large flan with light attractive tone, extremely fine and scarce.
