VOLUSIAN, (A.D. 251-253), silver antoninianus, issued 253, Rome mint, obv. radiate bust to right of Volusian draped and cuirassed, around IMP CAE C VIB VOLVSIANO AVG, rev. Emperor standing to left, sacrificing over lighted tripod and holding short sceptre, around P M TR P IIII COS II, (RIC 141, C.94, cf.S.2827). Trace of blue tone, otherwise of generally with dark tone, extremely fine and scarce.
