CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 199-201, Rome mint, obv. laureate older boy's bust draped and cuirassed to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS AVGVSTVS, rev. Caracalla in military dress, standing facing head to left, holding Victory on globe and reversed spear, captive at feet seated to left, around SEVERI PII AVG FIL, (BMC 172 [Severus], RIC 45, C.590, S.-). Dark attractive tone, nearly extremely fine and scarce.
