EGYPT, Kingdom of, Ptolemy II, (285-246 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (13.41 grams), Alexandria mint, obv. head of Ptolemy I to right wearing aegis, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, standing on thunderbolt, in front P (OK LATIN) over monogram PAR (Greek), around BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU, (cf.S.7773, Sv. 255, SNG Cop 70, BMC 59). Edge chipping in places, otherwise nearly extremely fine with attractive blue tone on the reverse.
