MESOPOTAMIA, Carrhae, Macrinus, (A.D. 217-218), silver tetradrachm, (13.58 grams), issued 217-218, obv. radiate head of Macrinus to right, around some of legend AYT K M A OP CE MAKPINOC CE, rev. eagle standing facing, head to right, wreath in beak, between legs crescent, around DHMARX EX UPATOC, (cf.S.2973, Bellinger 168 [ANS Mum. Studies No.3, p.59, Pl.XIII, 3]). Small flan as usual, extremely fine portrait, some mint bloom and rare.
