MACEDON, Kingdom of, Demetrios Poliorcetes, (294-288 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.97 grams), Pella mint, issued 294-293 B..C., obv. Nike blowing trumpet and holding mast to left on prow, rev. Poseidon striding to left brandishing trident and holding chlamys on outstretched left arm, dolphin over star to right in field, monogram of IO to left in field, below BASILEWS, to right DHMHTMOU, (Newell 68, Pl.VI, 18; cf.S.6762). Off centred on obverse and reverse, otherwise extremely fine, with some mint bloom.
