PHOCAS, (602-610), gold solidus, Constantinople mint, issued 607-610, (4.48 grams), obv. bust facing of Phocas with beard, draped and cuirassed, wearing crown, holding cross, around dN FOCAS PERP AVG, rev. angel standing facing holding long staff surmounted by chi-rho and cross on globe, around VICTORIA AVGGI, (S.620, DOW 10j, BMC 22). Weak in places, otherwise nearly extremely fine.
