HENRY & JOHN COOKE MELBOURNE, issued at Bendigo Diggings, promissory note or order, proof on paper, not dated (185- printed), with provision for number, watermarked HODGKINSON & CO, vignette of miners and arms, another of building, imprint of HAM Sc, stating on front 'At Sight Pay ...... To Messrs. Henry & John Cooke, Melbourne', in centre H & J COOKE in block, black on white. Light toning on two edges, otherwise good extremely fine and extremely rare.

This note, an issue of Thomas Ham, is another interesting example from the gold rush era in Victoria.
