NETHERLANDS, seige of Groningen and Coevorden, 1672, silver 55mms, (31.98 grams), unsigned, obv. Groningen City view, showing river and fortressed walls, in foreground the besieging troops of he Bishops of Munster and Cologne, rev. similar view of Coevorden, the besieging troops deployed in five columns in foreground, (Van Loon 110.1, French 104.1). Purple and irridescent tone, good very fine, historically important and rare.
