MARCUS AURELIUS AS CAESAR, (A.D. 161-180), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 140-4, obv. bare head of Marcus Aurelius to right, around AVRELIVS CAESAR AVG P II F COS, rev. around PIETAS AVG, emblems of priesthood, knife, sprinkler, jug, lituus and simpulum, (S.-, RIC A424a, C.451). Attractive blue tone, nearly very fine.
