AUGUSTUS, (27 B.C. - A.D. 14), silver denarius, Lugdunum (Lyons) mint, issued 8 B.C., (3.64 grams), obv. laureate head of Augustus to right, AVGVSTVS DIVI F around, rev. [C CAES] AVGVST, C. Caesar galloping to right holding reins, with sword and shield, behind eagle and two standards, (S.478, RIC 199, BMC 500). Slightly off centre on the reverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine and rare.
