MESOPOTAMIA, Carrhae, Macrinus (A.D. 217-218), silver tetradrachm, (12.04 grams), issued A.D. 217-218, obv. radiate bust of Macrinus with cuirass and paludamentum, to right seen from behind, around AYT K M OP CE MAKRINOC CE, rev. eagle standing facing, head to right, wreath in beak, to left above star, between legs crescent, in exergue two dots, around DHMARC EX [Y]PATOC., (Bellinger 168 [ANS Num. Stud. No.3], p.59, plate XIII,3 same dies, cf.S.2973). Extremely fine with some traces of mint bloom and rare.
