MESOPOTAMIA, Carrhae, Caracalla (A.D. 198-217), silver tetradrachm, (13.58 grams), issued A.D. 215-217, obv. laureate head of Caracalla to right, around AYT K M A ANTWNEINOC [CEB], rev. eagle standing facing, head to right, wreath in beak, to left above star, between legs crescent, in exergue two dots, around DHMARC E[X YPATOC TO] D, (Bellinger 159 [ANS Num. Stud. No.3], p.58, plate XII,10 same dies, cf.S.2701). Slightly porous flan, otherwise extremely fine with some traces of mint bloom and rare.
