SYRIA, Kingdom of, Antiochus IX, (113-95 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.70 grams), Antioch mint, first rule in Antioch 113-112 B.C., obv. diademed bearded head of Antiochus IX to right, fillet border, rev. Athena standing to left, hold wreath wreath bearing Nike in outstretched hand, all within laurel wreath, on right, BASILEWS ANTIOCOV, and to left FILOPATOROS, to left monogram of - and N over A, to right N, (S.7160, Newell SMA 384). Nearly extremely fine and scarce.
