MACEDON, Potidaea, (c.500 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.58 grams), obv. Poseidon Hippios on horse standing to right, holding trident and reins, star of five rays beneath, rev. incuse square diagonally divided into four triangles, (S.1282, Price Pl.V, 22, Asyut Hoard Nos. 213-218 similar dies, cf. Giessener Munzhandlung sale 69, lot 154). Flan cut on obverse as usual, otherwise nearly very fine, rare.
