HONORIUS, (A.D. 393-423), gold solidus, issued at Constantinople mint in A.D. 397-402, (4.43 grams), obv. helmeted bust to half right with elaborate dress, holding shield and spear over shoulder, around DN HONORI VS P F AVG, rev. Constantinopolis enthroned facing head right, holding sceptre and Victory, star in left field, around CONCORDI A AVGGGA, in exergue CONOB, (S.4242, RIC 8). Tiny scratch in obverse field, otherwise choice extremely fine and scarce.
