MADRAS PRESIDENCY, in the name of 'Alamgir II (A.H.1167-1173, A.D. 1754-1759), silver rupees (8), impressed with the mint name Arkat and known as the 'Madras rupee', Regnal Year 6 (1759-1807), struck at various mints, Madras, Calcutta, Murshidabad and Dacca, in a range of styles, all, except one (this with many schrof marks), with clear Regnal Year 6 readings, also a eighth rupee nd., all in packets described, (Pr. 140, 144, KM. 381, 384). Mostly very fine or better, the last very rare. (9)
