SHAH JAHAN I, (A.H. 1037-1068, A.D.1628-1658), round Gold mohur, (10.81 grams), struck at Surat mint, issued A.H. 1048 (A.D. 1638-9), Regnal Year 11, obv. Kalima, square borders with ornamental quatrefoil corners, margins as usual, date 1047 lower left margin, Regnal year in field, rev. Shah Jahan within square with ornamental quatrefoil corners, mint in left margin, (cf.Indian Museum Calcutta 860, cf.KM. SAC 260.15). Punches in edge, very fine, very rare and an unpublished date.
