SHAH JAHAN I, (A.H. 1037-1068, A.D.1628-1658), round Gold mohur, (10.94 grams), struck at probably Burhanpur mint, issued A.H. 1041/1039 overdate, (A.D. 1631-2), Regnal Year 4, obv. Kalima, square dotted borders with ornamental quatrefoil corners, margins as usual, date 1041 within square, rev. Shah Jahan within dotted square with ornamental quatrefoil corners, mint off flan below, (cf.BMC 540, Nagpur 522, cf.Indian Museum Calcutta 844, cf.KM. SAC 260.6). Good very fine and rare.

Ex. Spink & Son, London, Sept. 13, 1978 by private treaty.
