AKBAR, (A.H. 963-1014, A.D.1556-1605), Gold mohur, (10.50 grams), struck in Lahore mint, issued A.H. 976 (A.D. 1568-9), Lahore mint signature, obv. Kalima, rev. Akbar's name, date and mint signature, (cf.BMC 43, Punjab Museum Cat. 154, cf.Nagpur 37-8, Indian Museum Calcutta -, KM. SAC 105.5). Short on flan on obverse, nearly full on reverse, otherwise very fine, rare.

Ex. Sotheby's London, July 23, 1975 (lot 117). $$ An issue without the usual privy mark.
