SEVERUS ALEXANDER (A.D. 222-235), denarius, Rome mint, issued 227, obv. laureate bust to right, rev. Emperor standing to left sacrificing, holding patera over altar, (RIC 70, C.325, cf.S.2224). Uneven porous surface, otherwise extremely fine.
