SABINA, wife of Hadrian, (died A.D. 137), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued prior to A.D. 137, obv. bust draped to right hair drawn up and elaborately plaited behind a triple tiara, around SABINA AVGVSTA HADRIANI AVG PP, rev. Ceres seated to left on basket, holding corn ears and torch, in exergue S C, (S.1194, RIC 1019, C.69). Has been lightly tooled and some smoothing on obverse field, otherwise attractive dark brown tone, very fine and rare.
