PALESTINE, Judaea, Second Revolt, (A.D. 132-135), silver denarius, (2.98 grams), undated, but attributed to year 3 A.D. 134-5, obv. Shim`on inscription within wreath topped by a medallion and terminating in ribbon ties, border of dots, rev. legend `For the Freedom of Jerusalem' one handled jug to right before it a palm branch, all within a border of dots, (S.5436; Mildenberg No.89, obv. die 15, rev. die 58 with only 3 examples cited for this die combination). Nearly extremely fine and a rare die combination.

A similar specimen from the Abraham Bromberg Collection from the same die combination was sold at the Superior Galleries Auction, Dec. 10, 1992 (lot 482).
