PALESTINE, Roman Procurator of Judaea, Pontius Pilate, under Tiberius, (A.D. 26-36), copper prutahs, obv. lituus surrounded by Greek legend, rev. date in wreath, (year LIS(reversed Z) = 17 = A.D. 30), (S.5623, Hendin 114 var.). Has been cleaned, off centre on obverse and reverse, otherwise nearly very fine and a rare variant for date.

Ex. David Hendin and of immense Biblical interest.
