LYDIA, Kingdom, Barbarous Imitation, struck by Cimmerians, uncertain mint, c.650-600 B.C., Electrum 1/24th stater (0.69 grams), obv. crude lion's head to right, rev. square incuse punch divided into four quarters with a central raised dot, (S.3408; L. Weidauer `Probleme der fruhen Electronpragung', No.122-3 [Plate 13]; BMC 29 [Lydia]). Very fine and very rare.

One of the first coins ever made.
