GROUP OF FIVE, Military Cross (GVR), British War Medal 1914-18, Victory Medal, Defence Medal, British War Medal 1939-45, second and third impressed, Capt V.F.Craig, others unnamed. Accompanied by Officer's Record Book, copy of Citation, photo, details of Army career etc,. Very fine-extremely fine. L.G.: 27 June 1917. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in constructing a bomb block and holding it with an advanced party of infantry for many hours against determined enemy attacks. But for this splendid example of personal courage and coolness in rallying the men and replacing casualties the block could not have been held. He showed mark resource under very trying conditions.
