DENARIUS ROME MINT (STRUCK C. 49-48 B.C.) Obv. Elephant right trampling on serpent, CAESAR in exergue Rev. Simpulum, sprinkler, axe and priest's hat (Craw.443/1;Syd.1006;Sear 353). Very good.
The obverse type may symbolise victory over evil, while the reverse refers to Caesar's office of Pontifex Maximus.
