GROUP OF EIGHT:- Military Medal (GVR); 1914-15 Star; British War MEdal 1914-18; Victory Medal; 1939-45 Star; Pacific Star; British War Medal 1939-45; Australia Service Medal, Pte A.C. Eldred 1st F.A. Aust A.M.C./2nd A.I.F. fifth and sixth medals unnamed, others impressed. Very fine.
MM: C.G. 2 May 1918. 'For conspicious gallantry and devotion to duty during the operations east of Ypres on 4/10/17. This man showed the greatest courage and resource in helping in the evacuation of the wounded from the forward Regimental Aired Post. He continuously crossed ground swept by shell and carried wounded med across swampy ground showing at all times the greatest disregard for danger. He set a fine example throughout. With photograph of recipient and some correspondence.
