MELBOURNE 1956, Olympic torch used in the Olympic torch relay run from Cairns to the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Complete with detachable burner holder. Rare in complete form, lettering around base of flame protector reads - XVI Olympiad 1956: Olympia - Melbourne; Olympic rings cut out from around wind protector (overall height 47.5 cms). Small edge nick at top of winf protector, otherwise in extremely fine condition.
