COMMONWEALTH BANK OF AUSTRALIA, bank Cheque No.1, Sydney 20th Jany. 1913, for one pound payable to G.F.V. Cole, signed by E.W. Hull and H.T. Armitage (later Governor of the Bank and a banknote signatory). Printed by John Sands Ltd. Extremely fine and unique.

Ex Spink Australia Sale 1 (lot 254). Vernon Cole was a magpie collector who was emplyed at the Bank purposly set out to save the first cheque form to be made by our first central bank on its opening day.
