PRIVATE TRADERS NOTE, Goerge Shenton, one pound, Perth, March 1 1866 No.966, signed by G. Shenton and entered by Geo. Shenton Jnr. (son) who became first mayor of Perth in 1880 and a prominent politician (cf. Nicholson lot 1634). Tear on left margin and tape marks on all four corners otherwise fine and extremely rare.
