TRAJAN DECIUS, (A.D. 249-251), silver antoninianus, issued 249-251, Rome mint, (3.66 grams), obv. radiate bust to right of Trajan Decius, draped and cuirassed, around IMP C M Q TRAIANVS DECIVS AVG, rev. Trajan Decius on horse to left, holding sceptre and raising right hand, around ADVENTVS AVG, (RIC 11B, C.4, S.2691). Attractive blue and gold tone, as struck, good extremely fine.

This reverse type celebrates the new emperor's arrival in Rome after winning the throne from his predecessor Philip.
