ELAGABALUS, (A.D. 218-222), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 221, (3.22 grams), obv. laureate bust of Elagabalus draped and cuirassed to right, around IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, rev. around P M TR P IIII COS III P P, Elagabalus standing to half left, sacrificing out of patera over lighted altar, holding club upwards in left hand in left field a star, (S.2112, RIC 46, C.196). As struck, good extremely fine and rare in this condition.
