CARACALLA, (A.D. 198-217), AE as, Rome mint, issued A.D. 215, obv. laureate bust to right, draped and cuirassed looking from behind, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM, rev. Aesculapius standing to front head to left, holding serpent-wreathed wand, to right a globe, P M TR P XVIII COS IIII P P S C around, S C in fields, (cf.S.1977, RIC 553b, BMC -). Short on flan on reverse, otherwise good very fine with attractive dark patina.
