LUCIUS VERUS, (A.D. 161-169), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 165-6, (21.46 grams), obv. laureate head of Lucius Verus to right, around L VERVS AVG ARM PARTH MAX, rev. around TR P VI IMP III COS II, Parthia seated to right, hands bound behind back, weapons at feet, seated in front of trophy, (S.1541 [denarius], RIC 1440 [Aurelius], C.199, Shore p.45 [this coin]). Light brown patina, very fine and rare.
