MARCUS AURELIUS, (A.D. 161-180), silver denarius, issued 161, Rome mint, (3.58 grams), obv. bare head to right of Marcus Aurelius, around IMP M AVREL ANTONINVS AVG, rev. Providentia standing to left, holding globe and cornucopiae, around PROV DEOR TR P XV COS III, (BMC 18, RIC 23, C.508, cf.S.1417). Bright, attractive and very sharply struck, good extremely fine and scarce.
