REPUBLIC, Julius Caesar, (assassinated 44 B.C.), silver denarius, mint moving with Caesar, issued 48-7 B.C., (3.78 grams), obv. female head wearing oak wreath to right, with IIT behind, rev. trophy with Gallic shield and carnyx, to right axe, below CAESAR, (S.354, Cr. 452/2, Syd. 1009). Banker's punch in field on obvere, otherwise extremely fine with old cabinet tone, scarce.
