TAIFAS ALMOHADES, Nasrid of Granada, Anonymous Issue, 9th century A.D., silver square half dirham (0.86 grams), Gharnatah (Granada) mint (Spain), not dated, (A.416, M.424-5). Very fine and scarce.

Originally one of the Taifas Almohades, the Nasrids survived until the expulsion of the Arabs by Ferdinand and Isabella in 1492. Most of the rulers struck gold, and a series of anonymous silver half (above lot) dirham and quarter dirhams.
