ARAB SASSANIAN PROTOTYPE ISSUE, Khusru II (A.D. 590 - 627), silver drachm or dirhem, Nihavand mint, dated year 30 (A.D. 620), (cf.Walker beta [p.2] Plate I, beta; cf.M.21; Gobl 211). Very fine and scarce.

The typical Sassanian bust of this coin becomes the standard bust type of Islamic drachms with governor's names, (see below).
