PERU; Staff; Baston de mando; (local chief's symbol of authority); algarroba wood; large 'rattle' inside the pointed tip which has separated from and is above a figure of a puma showing remains of a cloth collar; lower end of staff is missing; Mochica culture. Ca 450-700 A.D. Extremely rare and very unusual. (length 613mm)
