DIOCLETIAN, (A.D. 284-305), billon antoninianus, Ticinum mint, issued 292, (3.97 grams), obv. IMP C VAL DIOCLETIANVS AVG, radiate draped cuirassed bust to right, rev. around HERCVLI CONSERVAT, XXIT in exergue, P in left field, Hercules standing to left, holding club, lion skin and bow, (cf.S.3512, cf.RIC 217, cf.C.137). Nearly extremely fine and an unpublished variant.

The difference between the RIC described issue and this example is the placement of the P in left field rather than in the exergue.
