POSTUMUS, (A.D. 259-268), AE double sestertius, Cologne mint, (14.07 grams), obv. radiate bust of Postumus to right draped and cuirassed, around IMP C M CASS LAT POSTVMVS P F AVG, rev. galley travelling to left with nine rowers, **LVG in exergue, around degraded **GLVTLIIL, (cf.S.3142, cf.RIC 143, cf.C.179, dies not in Bastien but compare reverse 358b, engraver No.20). Unusual green and brown patination, very fine and rare.

The obverse is of good workmanship and probably from the Cologne mint, but the reverse is very degraded with a barborous legend.
