MARCUS AURELIUS, (A.D. 161-180), issue struck at Rome in A.D. 170-171, AE sestertius, (27.12 grams), obv. M ANTONINVS AVG TR P XXV, head laureate to right, rev. around SAL[VTI AV]G COS III, S C across field, Salus standing to left, feeding snake twined round altar and holding sceptre, (cf.S.1437, RIC 1009, C.550). Attractive portrait and with dark patina, very fine/fine.
