NERO, (A.D. 54-68), AE Sestertius, issued c.64, Rome mint, (23.2 grams), obv. laureate head to right of Nero, around NERO CLAVD CAESAR AVG GER P M TR P IMP PP, rev. Ceres on right veiled and draped seated left, holding torch, feet on stool, Annona draped standing facing, right hand on hip, left hand holds cornucopiae, modius between them on altar, ship's stern behind, around ANNONA [AVGVS]TI CERES, S C in exergue, (S.678, RIC 137, BMC 127, WCN 119). Good fine/ nearly fine and a rare type.
