REPUBLIC, Sextus Pompey, (c.45 B.C.), officially cut in two AE As, Spanish or Sicilian mint, (12.62 grams), obv. laureate head of Janus, [MAGN] above, rev. prow to right, PI[VS] above, [IMP] below, (cf.S.348, cf.Cr.479/1, cf.Syd.1044a, see examples in R.Martini 'Sextus Pompeius' pl.LI-LIII, see 589 for almost identical half). Nearly fine and rare.
