ITALY, Lucania, Metapontum, (c.335-330 B.C.), silver distater or tetradrachm, (15.51 grams), obv. bearded Corinthian helmeted head of Leukippos to right, behind forepart of lion to right, rev. ear of corn, to right **[METAP]ONTIN[WN], to left club erect over leaf, [A]MI below, (S.414, Johnston [NN&M 164] Class B, 1.5, SNG Fitz 492, SNG ANS 430). Worn with some light porosity, otherwise nearly very fine and rare.
